Live.me Guide

Just like every other social platform before it, live.me allows for social interaction, in a video format. However, unlike platforms such as Periscope and Facebook Live, you can interact with the broadcaster using items such as gifts and beaming into their broadcast.

The Basic Run Down

So, let’s briefly take a look at just what live.me offers. Looking at this screenshot. As you can see, I have just joined this broadcast. There is no one on the screen but you see all these items. Across the top, starting from the left is the broadcasters name and the total number of viewers who have stopped by during this broadcast. Below that is this broadcasters total diamond received count. Diamonds are covered further under the gift section. To the right of the broadcasters name, are circles to show the active viewers. This can be swiped to the right or left to see all the active viewers. The first 3 viewers in this screenshot are listed as 1, 2, and 3, as they have all gifted the broadcaster.

The items on the bottom right, from the top are: Likes, the heart icon (to give likes, although you can actually click anywhere on the screen), a record option to record what’s on your screen, the gift box (where gift options live) and a share option. For more information on gifts, see the gift section and for share options, see the social sharing section.

Leveling Up

Gifting the Broadcaster

While viewing a broadcast, you might wish to send a broadcaster gifts. For each coin spent towards gifts, you will receive the same amount of XP as the cost of the gift. The broadcast will receive the amount of diamonds as the cost of the gift.

Watching Broadcasts

For every minute you are in a broadcast, regardless of activity, you will receive one xp per minute. This is Live.me’s way of assisting you in leveling up.

Daily Check In

Collecting the XP from daily check ins will also assist you in leveling up.

Managing Your Broadcast

Admins

You are allowed up to 5 admins for your broadcasts and you can make anyone in your broadcast an admin. Simply click their name, click “Manage”. Then choose “Set as Admin”. Now, if you wish to manage the admin list, that “Admin List” option is there for you to see the current admin lists and you can remove any of the admin listed to make room for new admins if you wish.

Block Users

As you can see in that screenshot over there for Admin, there is an option to “Block Permanently”. There are two block settings, one for the broadcaster, which is a permanent block, and an admin block, which is temporary and just keeps the user from typing in the chat area for up to 24 hours.

Broadcast Etiquette

Like any social platform, there are some basic etiquette or rules one should follow while watching a broadcast.

Rule 1: Be Active

This includes following the broadcaster, sharing the broadcast, clicking the heart button, gifting (if you have coins and wish to do so) and talking to the broadcaster through the chat.

Rule 2: Don’t Ask for Coin Drops

Even if you are in a broadcast which uses the #coindrop hashtag, wait for coindrops, don’t enter and ask for them. Same goes for asking if the coindrop has already happened.

Rule 3: Don’t Advertise

Nothing is worse or tackier then advertising say for a coindrop broadcast or your social media in someone else’s broadcast. Save yourself from being blocked and don’t advertise.

Rule 4: Don’t Beg for Follows

Never ask for a broadcaster or others in a broadcast to follow you. A good rule is to follow and then earn their follow back.

Levels

There are a total of 99 levels within Live.me and each level requires certain amount of Experience Points (XP) to advance. Below are the XPs I have recorded so far.
